Breathe in, Breathe out, Breathe in, Breathe out

    10 September 2012 / 0 Comments

Well, I got the car back from the mechanic and lets just say that I almost had to give over my left arm, and two toes.   That voucher I was talking about earlier was and is a crock!   Yes, it was a big service, but my gut feeling was that they saw a woman walk into their store and they knew what buttons to push.   I would love to name and shame them…but I won’t.   If you ask me who it was I will nod when you get it right…I just don’t want to be accused of publically shaming the business. I got a call earlier in the day to…

    Mechanic…are you ripping me off?

    10 September 2012 / 0 Comments

Today we are getting our car serviced.  It should have been done a few weeks ago, but we are getting it done today.   The two industries that make me nervous are Dentists and Mechanics.  Don’t get me started on my issues regarding the dental industry, so we will talk about mechanics. I heard on the radio some time ago that there is evidence to suggest that mechanics have been known to increase the price when a woman is asking for the service.  Apparently, it suggested that mechanics were less likely to rip off a man asking for the same service?   Today I feel vulnerable and at mercy to…

Oompa Loompa’s live at Kmart Caloundra

    7 September 2012 / 0 Comments

I am guilty of lying to my children.  I have encouraged them to believe in Santa, the Tooth fairy, the Easter Bunny and Oompa Loompa’s!  I made the lie more authentic by creating an email address – not for the Oompa Loompa’s, but the others. However, because i find it hard to swallow that these mysteriously pretend characters get all the praise for our hard work of buying our kids their Christmas presents….Santa and the Easter Bunny have found themselves affected by the GFC.  In fact all three of them are having some money woes.  Santa and his friends come and leave their wares, but the value of  the gifts…

    Birthday Present Ideas!

    7 September 2012 / 0 Comments

Ok, a while back I said to hubby that I would love to own a unit at the Circle on Caville – only $650 K.   Not sure why he scoffed, because we were all talking about what we wanted for our birthdays.   Now I did also say that I wouldn’t mind if I never got another birthday or Christmas present EVER again if I was given this as a gift – if we could own one of these units.   I vaguely remember him saying that he would like that in writing?! 🙂  I am thinking I was being considerate in my thinking!   However, as the months are rolling by and…

    Before I die, I want to…

    6 September 2012 / 0 Comments

I found this concept amazing.  After a significant person in Candy Chang’s life passed away in 2009, she began wondering what the meaning of life was.   She wanted to do something a little bit out there in her community that would bring people together, and so this campaign started.   Chang got permission to cover the front wall of an abandened home in New Orleans with blackboards, and she painted at the top the words “BEFORE I DIE, I WANT TOO…. “.     People from all over the city of New Orleans congregated and left messages all over the board.  Some funny, some significant and some serious…. Across America and now across…

    Jaden…the only boy child!

    4 September 2012 / 0 Comments

Jaden is turning 20 months this month….on the 12th actually – which is Wednesday next week.   This child is amazingly cute, gorgeous and a whole lot of fun, but let me say that he has turned my world upside down and inside out.   Obviously he is a positive in my life, but he gets into absolutely everything.   My girls loved to colour pictures.  Jaden loves to colour walls, tables and floors.   My girls loved to play tea parties.  Jaden loves to pull all the plastics out of the cupboard and jump all over them.  Oh, and he pulls the toaster out and shakes it all over the kitchen.  The girls…

    Coffee with a good friend

    2 September 2012 / 0 Comments

On Saturday night I took some time out with a friend – we met up at Mooloolaba and hobbled up to Gloria Jeans to kick back and chat.  I have a huge blister on the bottom of my foot, but I was absolutely determined to have a fun night.  There is no way I am going to allow a sore blister to get in the way of friendship and hot chocolate!  🙂 Mooloolaba is spectacular during the day, and when you get to walk down the pathway next to the ocean where the sun hits the surface of the water, you know that your in paradise.  The night life of…

    Sleep Over Tents…Aren’t these great

    30 August 2012 / 0 Comments

I would love to make these for the kids…and have a few spare for when we have friends over or cousins come…in fact, I would love to make one of these for all the little cousins coming. I have been looking at ‘how to make a ‘tee pee’ but I think I love this idea far more than a tee pee.   I don’t know which of my kids would love theirs more…but I know without a shadow of a doubt that I know that all of them would love it.    I also like the fact that these Sleep over tents would fold and store away easily.    …
