Chasing a Slow and Meaningful LIfe

It turns out, ‘simplifying your life` isn’t as simple as I thought it would be. One of my personal goals for this year is to simplify my life. I am chasing a slower and a more meaningful life. My ultimate goal is to live a life based on good decisions and values, spend as much quality time with my family and friends, and do all of those things I personally love to do – reading, writing, walking on the beach, chilling out, taking photographs, learning a craft etc. Reality Check! While simplicity sounds relatively easy, and it is in theory, its not so easy when you think of the long list…

  • 2017,  New Years Resolutions. Fabulous 2017

    Hello 2017!

Hello 2017! How did 2016 come and go so quickly? This last year literally flashed before my eyes, and really impressed upon me the importance of having a plan and a goal, and to make not just the big moments in life count, but also the little ones. A brand new year means ‘a fresh start’. A new beginning. A fresh start means we get to make changes to the areas of our lives we feel need a shake up. Some decide to change jobs, some want to have more fun, read more, get healthy, learn how to play an instrument, or speak another language. Anything is a viable option!…

    Goodbye 2016, Hello 2017

I can’t believe Christmas 2016 is over for another year! We had a great Christmas!  We celebrated on Christmas day with my side of the family this year.  We alternate celebrating Christmas day with our two families.  My brothers and their wives and families drove to the Coast and we all congregated at mums.   We did presents first and boy that was fun!  Paper filled the lounge room, and the squeals of delight from all the kids was wonderful to hear.  It was noisy, chaotic, and fun.   Everyone then pulled together and got food to the table for lunch. I think my favourite part of Christmas is watching…

    Gold Coast Holiday 2016 – The Q1

Since we last spoke, life got a little busy with end of year school related busyness and then we headed off to the Gold Coast for our family holiday.  We had ten glorious days on the Gold Coast. I got a brilliant deal at the Q1 via an eBay deal. I know what your thinking, “You got a great holiday deal on eBay?  That sound crazy!” Well yes it was crazy – but it was pretty awesome.  I don’t like to brag but when it comes to getting brilliant deals, I must say that I have some amazing skills. Our 2 bedroom apartment was on the 32nd floor and we had amazing…

    Happiness, Habits and Hobbies

Recently, I listened to one of my many favourite podcasts ‘Straight and Curly’ with kelly Exeter and Carly Jacobs, who were talking about how important it is to have hobbies.   At the time I was quick to react with some quick ‘I don’t have time for any hobbies!’ type of remark. And then I had a moment of feeling blue, until it suddenly occurred to me that I do in fact have hobbies! I enjoy writing on my blog and taking photos.  I also love to read, listen to podcasts and watch movies.   I like to go walking on the beach, making sandcastles with the kids, garage sales and…
