    A Little Catch Up

We have just left the fun and familiarity of October, and we are now 6 days into November. 2022 is not slowing down, but getting faster as we head into the end of year activities. There is still time to achieve a few ’22 for 2022′ goals, but to do so means that time is of the essence . A few ideas will need to go on next years ’23 for 2023′ list. There are a few ideas I dropped from this year due to a lack of resources or changes in terms to our priorities. I know it’s the eleventh hour in many respects, and this has been an…

    Learning Calmness

Well, term one of 2022 was much bigger than I anticipated it to be. I very naively went into the first term of the school year expecting to have a lot more time in my day to work through my very long To-do list. After seven years of homeschooling and always having someone with me, I was finally going to be childfree for 6 hours of the day. I was excited to have time on my own, and to have time to get my ‘To Do’ list done. My personal list of things that need doing or sorting out has been growing over the last few years, so I really…

    Happy New Year!

Merry Christmas and welcome to a brand new year! We are now six days in, and I must say that I have a very good feeling about this coming year. We decided to start planning events and adventures we can look forward to over the course of the coming year! I’ll admit that I was in a hurry to finish 2021, and it was so lovely to finish the year with good friends down at Mooloolaba and of course the fireworks! There is something very special about fireworks and friendship! I believe whole heartedly that 2022 is going to be a great year. Last year was a good year in…

    October 2021

Well Hello! 2021 has not been the best blogging year for me. I can’t believe its literally taken me till now, the end of October, to actually get a blog post out. I feel as though so many things have happened this year, but when I try to write about it all – 2021 doesn’t look like it has felt. Maybe it is just a little bit of writers block, but also maybe what I would like to say about 2021 should not be said, maybe 2020/2021 will be two years in our history that we will look back on with angst and some sadness. First of all, let’s start…

    What do you want?

Has anyone ever asked you ‘what do you want in life?’ If so, did you stop and really think and consider the question? Did you answer the question? What do you want? I have been listening to a lot of Bob Goff videos lately. I love how Bob Goff talks, and how upbeat he is. He has a lot of really good advice on living life well, encourages us all to go on adventurous, and to find creative ways to be kind to the people in our lives, and those who live in our neighbourhood. He oozes happiness! Bob Goff lives a big life. He is a lawyer, a philanthropist,…

    Walking Through Open Doors

There will always be new doors and new adventures for us all. Life moves us forward whether we are ready or not, and since we never really know what each open door holds, we still have to jump through whether we are ready or not. We are meant to keep looking in the forward direction. Change isn’t always comfortable, but we do get used to the change eventually. Speaking of change. A couple of months ago we decided to have a look at some local schools for our youngest, for next year. I have been feeling our time as a homeschooling family is coming to an end after 7 years,…

    Taking Stock – December 2020

I was so excited for December to come this year. It has been quite the year in so many ways. Sadly, December came and disappeared very quickly. However, our December was a great month for so many reason. Our family went away to the Gold Coast for one of our best holidays ever. We thoroughly enjoyed our time away together. We celebrated the kids finishing school for the year, and we celebrated our eldest finishing her advanced diploma. We found out that she was one of three who actually graduated with her qualification. Her other classmates must need to resubmit certain assessment pieces before they can move forward to receiving…

    21 for 2021

It’s that time of year when we start thinking about our goals for the coming year. I don’t know about you, but I have been thinking about 2021 for some time. I could tell you 10 great reasons for why you shouldn’t bother setting goals for 2021, considering 2020 was the year of covid-19 and Quarantining. Should we even bother setting goals? The answer to this question is ALWAYS YES! We should bother setting goals! We still have desires, and things we want to achieve in our lives. We are creative beings, goals give us direction, and we are responsible for the lives we lead despite the craziness going on…
