Its 2013….Happy New Year!!!
It has been 10 days since 2012 finished and 2013 started, and I have spent the last ten days getting organised, sorted, appointments, and really enjoying my kids. Jaden’s second birthday is on the 12th so I have organised a little birthday morning tea for him and his little cousin Charlotte who is 8 days younger than him. I have also spent time writing – not just for my blog (not yet published as I have been juggling the must do, with the want to do), but planning 2013 and action plans too boot! This week hubby went back to work, and while I was sad the holidays…

Grandparents!
Recently the Sunrise Weekend show on channel 7 shared James K Flannigan’s letter to his grandchildren. Mr Flannigan’s letter really enriched my life and is very special – so I wanted to share it with my readers. As 2012 comes to a close, and 2013 begins, I felt it appropriate to share. I hope that this letter enriches your lives as it has mine. Happy New Year to all my readers. I sincerely hope that you have a fantastic 2013. On Sept. 3, 2012, James K. Flanagan of West Long Branch, N.J., died unexpectedly of a heart attack. He wrote this letter to his five…

The Rubber meets the Road…Its time to get serious for 2013!
December 2012 is coming to a close. In five more sleeps it will be new years eve, and then it will be the 1st of January 2013. The first of January is symbolic. It is the day that most people start thinking about what they want for their lives, and what they want to change. They start to put a goal list together. Most of us make ‘good intention’ promises to ourselves – the plan is to do better and be better. We have good intentions, but new plans or new convictions for our lives can not stand up too good intentions. Unfortunately good…

School holidays, reflecting on the past and looking to the future!
The Summer school holidays started with a bang! The count down to Christmas is on, and the excitement is starting to build. In some ways it feels a little surreal – I know the holidays have started – but at the same time I feel that I have to pinch myself to believe that the holidays have actually arrived. The end of year excitement is in the air and I love it. Its my favourite time of the year. Christmas is everywhere, the days are longer, the nights are lovely. It just a wonderful time of year. This time of year brings a lot of love to the…

Sarah – when did you get so old?
This morning I crawled out of bed. It was probably one of the hardest nights sleep I have had in a long time, and I think that I have just about had enough of Jaden waking at 1 am and refusing to go back to sleep. Jaden is one of those kids who screams until he gets his needs met so I can only imagine the glee and joy that my neighbours would feel if they were woken up by me trying to do ‘control crying’ or trying those good old ‘Self settling’ techniques at 1 am in the morning. I don’t think the ‘Oldies’ out the back…

Get your Christmas Spirit on!
My life can’t get any busier at the moment. It’s just not possible. It’s the last week of school and I am so incredibly excited that the holidays are almost upon us. I can smell the holidays and I am very excited! Three O’Clock Thursday afternoon can not come fast enough. Bring on the school holidays is all I can say! Have I mentioned that I love school holidays!? As the school year comes to a close the Christmas season starts. Not sure why I feel the two are different, but for me the Christmas season can only start when school is finishing. Maybe its just…

Thyroids – who needs them!?
What do you have (or most of you have) that I don’t have? If you guessed a thyroid – you would be correct! I was born without one. A little fact for you, is that I was the first baby found in Queensland to be tested and found to be without thyroid as a baby. I am so famous that my name can actually be found in the medical books to prove this if your wondering! Thanks to me, all babies are now tested for thyroid issues after birth – this test is done in correlation to the heel prick test. This little organ, the majority of…
