That Sugar Film – a Kid Friendly Doco-movie
This week our family went to see, ‘That Sugar Film‘, and I have to tell you that it’s a doco-movie you must see. In fact, it’s a doco-movie you must see with your kids – and your partner! Its absolutely 100% family friendly. Its informative and it will help curb your children’s sugar addictions! We decided to take the kids to see ‘That Sugar Film‘, because one of the previews for the movie introduced viewers to 17 year old Larry, the boy who’s teeth were rotten from drinking Mountain Dew. We don’t drink Mountain dew in our house, but I wanted the kids to associate soft drinks with Larry’s teeth. Soft drinks are so…

Did you bring your game?
I’m not sure when it started, but at some point in the last six weeks, I started asking our girls each day if they are bringing their game to the table today! I mentioned it to my friend recently when she asked me how I get my kids motivated for school each day. All I know is that whenever I ask this question, the kids work well, and when I don’t ask the question – we seem to have an average work day. We’ve started calling it the ‘golden question’, because we really do feel that we have a good work day when I ask them if they are bringing their…

New Year. New School 2015
This year is shaping up to be a good one for our family…and its quite exciting!! We decided at the end of 2014 that we would be making a massive change in 2015. There are numerous reasons for this decision, but our Bethy is the main reason for making this change. Bethy struggles academically, and has done so since she started school. She’s always been young for her age, and this year she’s in year six (the last year of primary school). School life has been challenging for Bethy, and we have had many friendship issues along the way. On many occasions, over the years, Bethy would climb into the car at…

Farewell 2014. Hello 2015
Happy New Year Everyone! Can you believe we’re in 2015, already? Life in our household has been full on since I posted last. I can’t believe he’s 4 – what…

A Love Story!
On Monday, the 1st of December, hubby and I will be celebrating our 13th wedding anniversary! I can’t believe we have been married for 13 years! We have travelled a long way from our wedding day on the 1st December 2001, but in many ways, it still feels like we started our lives together just yesterday…..well maybe a couple of weeks ago. Thirteen years has gone so fast. Today, I thought I would share with you our love story. Its the Dion and Sarah Love Story – I’ll probably never be offered a million or two dollars to buy the movie rights so its safe to assume this is a safe…

Love, Grace and Gratitude – Finding True Happiness
Over the last couple of weeks we were introduced to the ‘New’ Renee Zellweger. The articles and media conversations surrounding Renee’s ‘new’ look were quite thought provoking, and somewhat attacking. Some reporters commented that ‘we’, the general public, put a lot of pressure on celebrities to keep their youthful appearance, and because of our expectations – they feel obligated to do everything in their power to remain youthful – including surgery. Other reports lay the blame squarely on the shoulders of producers and directors in the entertainment industry. Since Renee launched her new look – Actress Julia Roberts commented that she has no plans to freshen up her look with cosmetic surgery, she realises that…

Life Choice: Phase – Stay at Home Mum
Have you ever had someone out of the blue ask you what your doing with your life? This week I had somebody ask me what I’m doing with my life? I responded ‘Well, I am a mum of four and…’ and just as I was about to finish my sentence this person cut me off. She seemed irritated by my half answer. Suddenly I felt as though I was on the defence. This lady, who will remain nameless, growls “I know you are a mother, everything about you says ‘mother’, I want to know if ‘Sarah’ still lives in there?’. She even used her quotation fingers! I was stunned…
