    Getting this house in order.

    15 October 2012 / 0 Comments

Over the weekend I reached my threshold for putting up with clutter.   Clutter comes in all forms for me.  Its not just the stuff that we have in our home that we no longer need but can’t be bothered passing on, its so much more than that.   Clutter is everything in our lives that is a bit out of control.  It might be the paperwork – TAX, filing paid bills, not having a place for unpaid bills, the bedrooms are untidy and the living areas feel a bit out of control. There are too many toys, papers, books, dvd’s and videos, and games – just to name a…

This show tickles my funny bone

    14 October 2012 / 0 Comments

Well if you have been reading my blog for awhile you would have heard that my favourite show is Miranda…an ABC show (reruns are on fridays at 8pm – ABC).  The other favourite show is the Tori Spelling show, but for now – we are talking about Miranda.    Every time I see a Miranda episode I see more and more of myself in Miranda.    Sad but true…  so, Miranda, if you should fall upon this blog post….please consider coming to Australia and catching up with me at Gloria Jeans at Mooloolaba!     Such Fun!!!! http://www.abc.net.au/iview/#/view/802077

Classes for next year have been proposed!

    12 October 2012 / 0 Comments

Yesterday I read the school newsletter and found that while my big girls will be in straight classes next year – year 4 and 5, the admin at the school are bracing us parents early for the prospect of a year 1/2 class and a 2/3 class.    Now if you know me, you will know that I am not in favour with this idea.   Some may disagree with the way I am thinking, but here it goes. My youngest little girl will be going into year 2 next year, she is one of the youngest in her class, being a late May baby, but if its up to…

I am becoming a real ‘techy mum’

    12 October 2012 / 0 Comments

Isn’t it amazing that we really can do anything we put our minds too!  Obviously we are all different, and what I want for my life will probably be very different to what you want for your life, but at the end of the day, when the rubber meets the road, we all have dreams and desires that we would like to conquer while we are here on earth.   For some of us this dream or goal, may be small – like clean out the pantry, but then there are other dreams or goals like going back to study and either finishing a degree or starting one. We all…

Spring and the heat of renovating!

    10 October 2012 / 0 Comments

Its only been 1 month and 10 days since Spring started and I am not coping well with the heat.  Its not even Summer yet.   Summer starts on the 1 December and I am wondering if I have a thermostat issue.  Is it just me…or is everyone feeling overheated? Are my hormones going crazy or have I just forgotten how hot a true Summer can be here in Queensland. I miss our old house in Chancellor Park.  It was a lovely 3 bedroom home, with a pool.   Looking back – it was very nice.  Not enough room for 6 people – 4 of which are growing and need…

    Parenting 101 according to Sarah

    8 October 2012 / 0 Comments

Today is the first day of term 4, which means that it is the last term for the school year.  I so wish we were able to turn back time and re do the holidays.  I never feel ready to get back into the school routine…and I always feel that the holidays go far too quickly.    I am so not ready to get back into the school routine mode. Have I ever mentioned to you my love of the school holidays?   I think that we really need a third week.   That’s just my opinion, and I think its funny that I know many mums who will agree…

Do you have a goal for October?

    2 October 2012 / 0 Comments

Over the last few months we – hubby and I have been using a white board to remind ourselves of things that need doing, and then we also use the white board to nut out plans or use the white board as a place where we can ‘brain dump’ everything we have on our mind.    Its been great because before we clean the board we take a photo and then download it to the computer where we can flesh out the ideas or plan the details of the situation/circumstance further.   Sometimes having the information on paper or on the computer in front of us helps us – me…

Forget and do not look at yesterdays post! ….Move forward to good things and Beanie Parties

    1 October 2012 / 0 Comments

Today I woke up feeling good.   What a relief!  Just don’t go back to yesterday’s post when I was having a grumble about feeling out of sorts, and lets face it – I was Mrs Cranky Pants yesterday – so I don’t want you going backwards – GO Forwards! As I woke this morning from a lovely dream about our little family winning a prize home on the Gold Coast, I decided that today –  I was going to be kind to myself and give myself permission to enjoy my day!  Afterall, yesterday I had an ‘internal melt down’ which was a bit nasty.  Yesterday was supposed to be…
