As the days go by…!
This week has come and gone so quickly. Amy went to camp and came home, Monday came and went and now its Thursday night and I am contemplating what needs to be done tomorrow. Its not a matter of what should I do? Its more a case that I am wondering which jobs are absolutely necessary and which ones can I get away with not doing. I do have a list on the table that I will look at in the morning – I feel half way organised just because I have a list. How do you get organised? I have a list that I then put into my…

Grade 4 goes to Camp!
Today 25 grade 4 kids went off to camp with 2 teachers and a learning support teacher. Its quite a big deal when you think about it…many of these kids are going to be away from home for the very first time. I am not sure if Amy is the only one, but we really haven’t done overnighting. Now they aren’t travelling too far away from home (Mapelton), but they are away for two nights and three days and this means that they are going to need to make the decision that the are going to cope and work out their issues about being away at camp,…

Well I was going to watch a Movie….
All day I was thinking how great it was that I was going to have a little down time tonight. Bethy had begged and pleaded all week to go to the Bush dance at school and Dion was willing to take her and had every intention of taking her but I gave him the option tonight when he got home from work. He was not looking forward to going to a bush dance. So as the good wife that I try to be, I hesitated and then I asked him if he preferred that I take her….I hesitated, because I knew that if I gave him or any man…

Sports Carnival vs Much needed Mummy time!
Today Bethy and Chanel had their sports day at school, I usually go to all sports carnivals, but when mum offered to have Jaden for the day I felt that I really needed to jump at the opportunity for a day off. When I say a day off, I mean I really wanted time to do a few things on my personal list. Today the kids were supposed to learn how to Zumba at fit4life, but unfortunately Freya changed the plan and they instead played ball games in the tennis courts. Last week I heard that the kids were going to do Zumba so we have been talking about…

The mummy List!
Tonight for some reason I have about 10 things on my mind and I am having an issue with what I should be writing about, but I do know that I want to write about something…..so here it is – the list of whats on my mind. So here I am trying to live with purpose and not live reactively and I find myself with a huge list of things I need to do. Some of them important, some of them not so important – but none the less needing to be done. 1. Amy is going to camp next week and she is nervous about going to camp.…

Friday, your on my mind!
This is a short post due to the fact that life is happening in a very fast manner. Its Thursday afternoon and I need to make sure that the kids have completed their homework contracts for the week and that Amy, our eldest, needs to have her project done which is to go to school completed with her tomorrow. It seems that I am co-ordinating this project! I am trying to get Ames to think outside the box and come up with some of her own ways to present her poster on Meagen Nay. Our printer has decided to play up and so I need to email the information…

Eye specialists and fun in Maleny
I love spontaneous fun days. It started with some apprehension as I had to go to an eye specialist and have my optic nerves checked, apparently they appeared swollen in a recent optometrist appointment, but as it turns out, I am just one of those people who are born with thicker optic nerves! Yay for me! As we were leaving, we got hit with a bill for this eye specialist appointment. We should have asked what this appointment was going to cost however it came as a shock…$312! Yep…I know! I nearly squawked! Instead, I calmly (not calm on the inside) passed the lady my bank…

Shoulda Woulda Coulda
There are two remarkable things in life. The first is hindsight. Hindsight is a wonderful tool and sometimes painful tool too learn our life lessons, and the second is a child’s point of view. When I was a child I tried to jump into adulthood as fast as I could. I mostly enjoyed my childhood, but I wanted to grow up and be responsible and live my life – I loved the idea of independence. Although at the time, I don’t think the word independence was the word I used. I imagined my adult life a little different in terms of how it has worked out, but none the…
