Is it financially viable to be a Stay at home Mum?

    26 November 2012 / 1 Comment

Over the last 12 months I have asked myself time and time again if it is still financially viable for Australian family’s to have a Stay at home parent?  There are a number of blogs and websites which are rich in advice, and give tips and tricks about how to save money in many different ways (www.simplesavings.com.au), but what if you feel like you have exhausted all your options?  What if you have gone through the budget and culled everything down to the last cent?   What if you have changed service providers to get the better deals, but still you can’t afford to have a lifestyle.  Its all work…

November – the month of getting organised!

    21 November 2012 / 0 Comments

Over the last couple of weeks I have been doing a lot of thinking.  I have been trying to work out the direction I want to take in 2013.   I am trying to make a few decisions for my life.   Does anyone else find that they start thinking about the direction for their lives in November, or is just me?     I wonder if its because I see tables of fresh new diaries for the next year popping up on tables in shopping centres, so one feels a little pressure to do something with one’s life?  There is something surreal about the month of November for me.…

Argo – the script that changed the lives of 6 Americans!

    13 November 2012 / 0 Comments

I don’t think I ever thought that much of Ben Affleck as an actor.  Before Argo I think I considered him to be either a standard actor jock or pretty boring.   While his childhood friend Matt Damon has gone from strength to strength over the years, poor old Benno has seemed to struggle from one bad script to another.  That was until he acted, produced and directed ‘Argo’.   I have a brand new respect for the guy!  While I don’t think he suits scruffy hair and a scruffy beard, his role in the recent movie Argo is in my opinion going to shoot him into Hollywood’s elite list…

Mummy friendships – what not to do!

    10 November 2012 / 1 Comment

Much of life is about the people we come into contact on a regular basis.   Some are friends and some you consider aquaintances so I decided to work out a list of characteristics or traits to have in friendship – specifically friendship with other mums. I have known a particular woman for many years.   This person seems to follow me through life, and while she has made her mark on my life in a negative way I am not writing this to get revenge.  Instead, I would like to write about  my experience with this woman in the light of not wanting to be a friend like this. Let…

    Save money where you can!

    6 November 2012 / 0 Comments

So its Monday again.   I had wanted to write a post over the weekend…I had many a thing I wanted to share but due to some unforeseen happenings, one did not get time and then when I did have a moment I just could not string two sentences together, so most of the things I thought were great topics for discussion in my blog, have flown out the window.  Just shows you how important writing them down is….I wander if I still have baby brain, not sure about that considering Jaden is almost 23 months old.   At what point do you cross over the line from baby brain…

Thank God its Friday, and making the most of where we live!

    2 November 2012 / 0 Comments

I am a naughty mummy.  I am completely and disgracefully guity of…..taking for granted the beauty to which I live.  Right now I am sitting here at Gloria Jeans enjoying the outdoors, enjoying the view, watching the people wander by!  I wander how many of these strangers, in their different levels of attire live their lives here on the Coast, or are they visitors from other areas?  I wander how many live on the coast here, and how many take it for granted?  Like me? I actually feel bad that I don’t make it a priority to enjoy the Sunshine Coast as much as I possibly can – I even…

Looking for some good luck – anyone seen it?

    1 November 2012 / 0 Comments

I am not exactly sure why I dislike Nambour, but I do!   There are a few good op shops up there, but overall, its a hot and stinky little town.   Sorry if you live in Nambour – not trying to offend you – particularly if you like it or love it – everyone has an opinion – and I am not a fan of Nambour.    Now, I am sure that you are probably wanting to ask me why I had to go to Nambour – especially since I am not a fan?    Well, Dion’s little red car broke down up there and I had to go…

Madonna eat your heart out – the girls got style

    28 October 2012 / 0 Comments

This child is a fashionista!   Her name happens to be Chanel and lets just say that she has some style.   From an early age – 2, Chanel has wanted to dress herself .   Often dismissing the perfect and practical outfit that I set out for her, for a much fancier dress or skirt and shirt combination.  If it was cold she would add a pair of leg ins to the mix and walk out the door with a bracelet, necklace, sandals, a shoulder bag and sunglasses.  Many times the tiara would be placed elegantly upon her head. This child is all about looking good.   She is…
