    Taking Stock – August 2020

It’s the end of August! It’s been a massive month in many respects, but also a good month. My Mum and Hubby celebrated birthdays, school is in full swing, Tafe assessments for the girls are in extreme action mode (particularly for Ames), doctor appointments, a horrible dentist appointment, Beps work hours have increased so 1am drop offs are a bit more full on, youth group and church are go, go, go!! Making: I would love some time to make something outside of dinner. Hashtag goals! I would love time to go to a pottery class with some friends – I have never done a pottery class before. Cooking: No new…

    Faith: Look up, Child

Over the last six months, the news cycle has been focused on covid-19. This time in our history has been a little scary, and the quite unsettling. None of us have much faith in our government, and find ourselves wondering if they are for us, or against us? Are they going to make good decisions for us all? At the end of this pandemic are we going to be in a good position socially, culturally, psychologically, spiritually, or financially? Queensland has been in a good position over the last few months. I haven’t agreed with some of the decisions our Premier has made, but very happy with other decisions. With…

    Taking Stock – July 2020

Here we are in July! It’s quite surreal. Time is passing us by so quickly and there is always so many things we need to reach on. I’m becoming more and more aware of how precious time is and I don’t want to waste a single moment of it. It’s not easy to make memories with family and friends around the craziness of shuttling kids to all their different activities and also commitments, but here we are. In the midst of craziness, life keeps moving forward, and its up to us to live our best life through the strange and peculiar moments we find ourselves in. So, here we go.…

    Unstoppable Soul Surfer

One of the things I like about homeschooling through Faith CSDE is that the high school english program among other aspects to the curriculum, is really well done. Each term we are asked to read a particular book, answer questions, and learn new modes of writing, and each term has a different focus with regard to the learning mode of the curriculum. The programs are written in such a way that students are taken on a journey alongside the main character in the book. They use appropriate youtube videos, and numerous mediums of learning to bring depth to the subject at hand. This term we are reading ‘Soul Surfer’ (Third…

    Term 3 and Homeschooling Gameplans

Term three has officially started! We are about to start week two of the term, and I’m so not ready for Monday morning! Tafe also started back last week, so I again live in the car. Bep’s hours at work have officially gone up, which is a good thing, but it also means that we (hubby and I) have another ungodly hour to get up to each week with regard to dropping her off at work. The holidays went far too quickly for my liking. I had numerous things I wanted to accomplish, and if I am going to be honest I only tackled a few of those things on…

    Taking Stock – June 2020

Hello!   Oops! 🙂June escaped me. Here I am though, few days into July – Better late than never!!! What a crazy month June came and went!  Not sure why this month has felt much longer than any other month, but it could simply be because school holidays were coming, and I was eager to get there as quickly as possible. After all these years, I am still one of those mums who loves holidays with the kids. And yes, I know that sounds crazy since I am a homeschooling mum! All I can say is Thank God the holidays are here!! Homeschooling Reporting went very well. We are so blessed…

    Heavenly Friendships

Friendships are a beautiful tapestry of memories, life experiences shared, conversations had, tears shed, and laughter cherished. Long beautiful friendships where each person in your friendship group journey through all the different facets of life together. There is nothing like the safety and security of genuine friendships with people who are just as committed to growing old with me, as I am with them. I love long term forever friendships, also known as kindred spirited friendships. I am deeply committed and loyal to my friends, and they are the same for me. I’m so lucky and grateful to have a group of friends like this. We come from all walks…

    Taking Stock – May 2020

Hello! Today is the last day of May 2020. May is one of my favourite months of the year. The temperature is starting to change from boiling hot to a nice and cool climate. I’m not a fan of the cold weather, but I do love a warm sunny winter day where I am comfortable in jeans and a shirt. This month we remembered my Dad. It’s hard to believe ten years has flown by so quickly. The first of May 2010 is a day we will never forget. Mothers Day was fun even though a few of us have had head colds (Definitely not covid-19). We also celebrated our…
