    Taking Stock – April 2020

Hello! Here we are at the end of the fourth month of the year. April! Time moves far too quickly for my liking. Strangely, for me, this last month has been a whirl wind. We are still isolated at home, but we are doing fine. My favourite word at the moment is Resilience, and I am trusting God to help us all get through the pandemic safely and securely, oh and fast. Making: Too be honest, April wasn’t a making ‘month’ for me. Outside of the ‘making’ of meals, obviously! My kids have been creative though! Our eldest has been working on her tafe assessments, Beps is doing a cross…

    Taking Stock – March 2020

Hello March! This month has been crazy. Right across the world, the goal of March Has been ‘Eliminate Covid-19’. Right across the world restrictions are in full force, and the news coverage every day is doom and gloom. I am looking forward to seeing the back of this rotten virus, and getting back to normal. Australia is yet to go through winter so it will be interesting to see how we fair through the next couple of months. From a personal family point of view, despite the crazy world of ‘toilet paper and hand sanitizer gate’, March has been a good month. Tafe life and school life is in full…

    Taking Stock – February 2020

How can February 2020 be gone already? I feel as though I blinked and have found myself at the end of February. Two months of this brand new year have slipped away and disappeared so quickly from our 2020. So here we are again reflecting back on the past month, and getting ready to focus on the March. February 2020 has been an incredibly busy month on so many levels. I look at my goals for the year pinned on my board and often tell them, “I’m sorry I didn’t progress you, tomorrow is a brand new day with new possibilities”. I realise that if I am going to accomplish…

    Taking Stock in January 2020

Hello January!! Actually, I should be saying, ’Goodbye January, Hello February!’ I can’t believe we are already at the end of January! It’s been a massive month here in our household. January is always a big month though, it’s about getting organised for the year ahead of us, school holidays, making sure we have everything ready for school life organised, and we celebrated our little man turning nine! A few years ago I did a blogging course with Pip Lincolne who shared the Taking Stock blog post concept. It’s a fun way to reflect and review your month. When I did this a few years ago, I really enjoyed the…

    Taking Stock – December 2017

Oh my goodness, we are at the end of December, about to embark on a brand new year.  The New year (2018) will start in about 26 hours!  I am personally looking forward to the clock ticking over into 2018. Before it does though, we need to do the very last ‘Taking Stock’ edition for the year!  I don’t think I will be doing ‘Taking Stock’ in 2018.    I have an idea for something else. Cooking: Due to feeling over committed, I stuck to my old family favourites this month.   I must say though that Christmas food was relatively a big deal in our household this month, so…

    Taking Stock – November 2017

This month has been huge.  I know I say it every month, but I find it crazy that we are in late November already.  While it has been a massive year, and I feel the wear and tear of a challenging year, I cannot believe we are in November.  Another year has literally flown by. Cooking: Due to feeling over committed, I stuck to my old family favourites this month.   I must say though that Christmas is coming, and my favourite Donna Hay Christmas recipe book is calling out to me “Pick me up! Pick me up!”   My reply, “I’m coming, I’m coming!!” Drinking : Soda water and…

    Taking Stock – October 2017

What a month!  October has been a good month.  Seems life takes interesting turns at times.   A turn we didn’t expect we would have to deal with this month, was that our hot water system decided to die, and had to be replaced.    I was thankful it didn’t happen mid shower!   It is now done, and it is nice to be on the other side of the issue. So here we are again,  at the end of another month.   I feel as though I blinked and the month of October came to an end quicker than it started.   This is Taking Stock – October 2017.…

    Taking Stock – August 2017

I’m not quite ready to say good bye to August, but that seems to be out of my control.   I will say though that I am pretty thrilled with the idea that as I publish this post, it will only be a few hours till we can say hello to Spring.   Spring is absolutely my favourite season of the year, and I am not exactly sure how to hide my enthusiasm. So lets get started… Making :   Art is an important subject in our homeschooling life.  Over the last week we have been attempting to paint rocks using mandala techniques. Lets just say that we need to…
