    The Good Ol Days

This photo is of Hubby and I before we were Hubby and wifey!  The year was 2001…the same year as we got married, and we were a couple of months off being engaged.   These were the days where I had time….I was studying and had time to get my hair done…not to mention my eyesbrows reshaped! These days we have four kids – 3 beautiful girls and a gorgeous little boy!    I will plaster my blog with photos of my kids and life…I am just getting into the swing of the idea of having a blog.   There are so many things I would like to do and…

    Hubby or kids first?

I am a guilty wife….I have to say that there is a pecking order in our household – usually goes from the littlest to the oldest and then me – or the one with the greatest need at the time gets preference.  When you look at it – its quite reactive rather than successful planning! Yesterday hubby and I went on our very first date in just under 17 months.  In two days Jaden will be 17 months old. So really our last date, was well…I don’t actually want to think about it!  I know your all probably falling off your chairs at the thought of this, but with breastfeeding,…

Toy Challenge for the toy challenged Public Hospitals of Australia

With our eldest daughter needing to stay at the Children’s ward at both Nambour Hospital and also the Royal Children’s hospital in Brisbane we have become quite accustomed to the boredom that comes with staying in hospital.    While we have been treated very well, at both Nambour and Brisbane,  the Royal Children’s hospital offers more options for the children.   If the children are of school age, patients and siblings are welcome to use the school on site.   If children are well enough for school, but unable to attend the school teachers roam the hallways of the wards.   The Wonder Factory is open outside school hours and…

    Finding that thing you do!

Family life is rewarding on so many levels.   The love I have for each person in my family is not in question, but I have to be honest and say this –  As rewarding as family life is – I am in desperate need of some time for myself.     I am certainly NOT a desperate housewife by any means, but I am in need of a hobby, project or job.  I would love my ‘thing’ to earn some money so that I feel like I am contributing financially….but with limited time and ideas its hard to find that ‘thing’. One of the issues I have is that…

    Life with kids can be….

Although this blackboard sign sends chills throughout my being – I don’t need or want a kitten, I do understand what it must be like for store owners/managers when my tribe and I go shopping.    Today we dropped in on a Lifeline store close to home, and I am sure they breathed freely once we had left. All four of our kids were having fun in the toy area of the store, pulling out games, toys,  books, and clothes.    I have to be honest and say that I was thankful that the strange bearded man was not on duty today.   He does not cope with the chaos…

    Caloundra-Maleny Show Holiday 2012

I am one of those mums who love holidays, public holidays, pupil free days, show holidays and weekends.   I love the days, we don’t have to run to a routine – the SCHOOL ROUTINE!  It is lovely to have a break – especially on a cold wintery day like today. As I write this blog post, my 16 1/2 month old little boy sleeps next to me.   My girls are playing happily in the fort and I am happily watching my eldest read The Wimpy Kid – Rodderick Rules to the other two girls.  They are snuggled in doona’s, pillows, and warm clothing in the fort….happy and relaxed.…
