Healthy Skin Care

So it seems that its not just what we put into our bodies that matters – its also what we use on our skin that matters.  I have been doing a lot of research on the topic of whats in our skin care and boy is it overwhelming.   If you don’t research – you don’t know, but it seems that that the big companies who create these skin care products are lying to us like you wouldn’t believe.

A while back I was listening to a podcast called Up for a Chat.  This podcast is a production that Cyndi O’Meara, Kim Morrison and Carren Smith do on a weekly basis.  They talk about all sorts of topics, mostly health related.   Its a brilliant podcast.   Anyway, I was excited to find their podcasts on the thyroid.  At the beginning of the first podcast on the thyroid, Kim who has a business called Twenty8.com talks about her research into what we are putting on our skin and how she has found out that there is a word ‘obesogens’.   Obesity is an epidemic in our culture and it seems that the products we are using in our skin care could be contributing to our weight issues.    How amazing is this information?     If you would like to know more about this I encourage you to do so.   Click here to hear the podcast.

While Kim has a fantastic skin care range, I wanted to find out all the options available, so I have been on an adventure to find Paraben free, Alcohol free, Fragrance free, and free from Animal or Petroleum Products or hormone disruptive ingredients. They are made from 100% Certified Organic Ingredients.     I wanted to find products that would not play havoc with my hormones.   I little while ago, I found Janine from ‘More than Skin Deep’.   Click here if you want to read more about Janine’s products.

My adventure to find more products continues…..and I promise I will bring back what I find.   Happy Skin Care to you!
